About PFP
Purrfect Feminist Perspective (PFP) is home to book reviews with a feminist analysis. It's where books meet cats, cats meet literary theory, and they all come together to share some love with the world.
Beyond that, it is also a place to journal a journey to finding a love of reading again.

WElcome to my blog!
I'm your very average 24 year old book nerd. Lover of cats, books, tea and coffee, my friends would say the only reason I go anywhere is for the cat cuddles and/or stories. I can't argue with them. I'm a firm believer in using stories to help understand and interpret the world around us, as well as to share our story with others. It's what has always made the most sense to me. Which is probably why I became an English major. I use terms of endearment (love, darling, hun) more than necessary, love dad jokes, and will one day convince the world Mac is better without the cheese.
Even though I've always found comfort in reading, I have periods of my life where reading fits in more naturally than others. I'm creating this blog and bookstagram account to help find my way back to reading. The best thing about being a book nerd is we have an amazing community. So if you're interested in books, feminist theory, or personal journeys to rediscovery, I welcome you to follow along! |

Why Feminist Theory?
It's hard to really say. During all the long hours of reading, dissecting and pretending to understand literary theory, something about feminist theory clicked. It could be because I had some realization that women and men aren viewed equally at a young age, or because I had just spent a week trying to understand post-structuralism. But it became my focus for all theoretical papers. (If you want to learn more about feminist theory, you can check out the information I discuss here).
As to why I decided to include an analysis with my reviews… I want to sound smart and say to keep my mind sharp and continue to learn more about it while I continue my degree. However, the real reason is because I couldn't not do research before starting a blog. And everyone said find your "thing." Well, I couldn't limit myself to a genre (I read everything but romance). This is what I settled on.
